Using A T-Shirt For Advertising? Follow These Tips

Blog

Printing your own t-shirts is a great way to advertise your business. Everywhere you go, you can wear the shirt -- and people will see your shirt and come to recognize your business. Your employees and friends can also wear the shirt and advertise for you. T-shirts are affordable, and you can design them however you want. However, you should be careful to follow these tips when you do design your advertisement t-shirts.

Go with a bold color.

Plain, white t-shirts are easy to miss. If you have a color that you use in your other business marketing, try using that color as the background for your shirt, too. Otherwise, just pick a bold color like royal blue or orange. Your shirts will stand out in a crowd, calling attention to themselves and encouraging people to read them.

Keep the message brief.

A t-shirt is not the appropriate means of telling potential clients all the details about your business and the services you offer. It is a means of quickly making people aware of your existence and encouraging them to seek more info. If you include too much text on your shirt, people will be overwhelmed and won't read it at all. Just include the business name, a brief description of your services, and a contact number or website address. (For instance, your shirt could say "Shannon's Nails. Manicure and Pedicure Services. Call 555-555-5555.)

Format any pictures properly.

Business pictures and logos do not always translate to t-shirts well. If your logo is too complex, it may not look great on the shirt. To ensure your image looks good, submit it to your t-shirt designer well in advance of when you need the shirt, and ask the designer for feedback. They may recommend simplifying your logo, changing it over to a different format, or coming up with an entirely new image for the shirt.

Choose contrasting colors for text.

Make sure the color of the text on your shirt is easy for people to read. You don't want black text on a dark blue shirt, for example. In general, if your shirt is light, the text should be dark, and if the shirt is dark, the text should be light. If you have trouble seeing your preferred color against the shirt, you can always have your text thinly outlined in white to make it stand out from the background color.

Learning About Printing Services

Hello, I am Maeve Boyle. The success of my business relies on my ability to spread the word about products and services I provide. I have found that the best way to tell the community about my business is through direct mail flyers. I design all of the flyers on my computer and have them created by a local printing company. The printing company allows me to pick the paper weight and finish used for the completed advertising materials. I like to pick a paper type with a texture and finish that people gravitate towards. I will talk about all of the different types of paper and inks used in the printing process. I hope you will use the information on my site to secure flyer prints for your business. Thanks.
