How To Use Picture Frames In A Unique Way

Blog

Whether you're planning to decorate your house with picture frames as part of the design, or whether you're giving them as Christmas gifts, here are some ideas that might help you to create something attractive and unique.

Photographs and Art Work - Of course, receiving framed photographs or works of art is always appreciated. However, giving a twist to the way they're framed will add interest to the art. A custom picture framer will be happy to work with you on your ideas, even suggesting ways to make the finished product truly unique. Here are a few ideas to take to the framer.

  • Do you have an old map that you've set aside because it wasn't perfect? One way to make that map come to life is to carefully tear around the edges to make it look even older. It would look great in a an unfinished wooden frame that would give it even more of a rustic look.
  • Grandparents would probably love to receive their grandchildren's works of art. You'd be surprised at how professional something like that can look when it is matted and framed properly.
  • If you are lucky enough to have photographs of your ancestors, consider having them placed in frames of different shapes and sizes so that they can be part of a wall grouping. For example, a photograph of your great-grandparents on their wedding day would be amazing in a gold oval frame.
  • Whether the art and the photographs are in color, sepia, or in black or white, consider selecting heavy gold frames for an elegant look.

Small Antique Collectibles -  One of the best ways to display and to protect antiques is to frame them.

  • If you are lucky enough to have things like your grandma's gloves, a bonnet she wore as a child, or her baby shoes, they would be adorable in a shadow box. Adding a picture to the display will personalize it.
  • Have you inherited things like wooden thimbles, silver collectible spoons or military buttons? The background you select for them will add a special flavor to the finished product. For example, paper with cannons on it would be great for your collection of military buttons.
  • A framed wedding invitation will look even prettier if you surround it with some of the dried flowers from the bride's wedding bouquet before placing it in an elegant frame.
  • It's not unusual to frame the first dollar bill your business received, but framing several of them in the shape of something like a sailboat, a flower or a kite would be even more dramatic.

Once you start framing things in a special way, you will probably want to continue to frame things to use as gifts throughout the year.

Learning About Printing Services

Hello, I am Maeve Boyle. The success of my business relies on my ability to spread the word about products and services I provide. I have found that the best way to tell the community about my business is through direct mail flyers. I design all of the flyers on my computer and have them created by a local printing company. The printing company allows me to pick the paper weight and finish used for the completed advertising materials. I like to pick a paper type with a texture and finish that people gravitate towards. I will talk about all of the different types of paper and inks used in the printing process. I hope you will use the information on my site to secure flyer prints for your business. Thanks.
